Basic Overview

1)     Overview:
The D2D500 is an endurance race for novice team drivers, no racing license required.
Join the elite who have raced before you at the famed Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
Make your mark on history with your team, support charities & have fun.
We will have 2, 3.5 hour races, with 35 cars on track per race and multiple classes.

2)     Vehicle Classes:
C1-The Craftsman, up to $5000. in total investment
C2-The Fighter, between $5000 to $10,000 in total investment
C3-The Commander,  between $10,000 to $20,000 in total investment
C4-The Terminator, $20,000 + in total investment
C5-Green Team,  Alternative Fuel, Diesel, Bio-Fuel, etc. (no gasoline)
C6-Hybrid Team, Powered by Electricity & a Fuel source

No vehicle under 2000lbs or over 4000 lbs gvw total. Minimum roof height of 40” or must have flags. Safety: Full cage, harnesses, fire extinguisher, safety equipment, etc. Must meet 92DB!

3)     Rules:
Each class of vehicles will be made “even” by a handicap system.
All vehicles in each individual class will be evaluated by: Go fast equipment & projected lap times.
Our D2D500 officials will apply our Equalization Formula to level the playing field.
The vehicle in each class with the most laps completed at the finish of the race, after their handicap is applied, will be the class winner. The vehicle with the most laps total, for both races, after their handicap is applied, will be the overall winner.

4)     Fees:
$600. Per team, Per Race, includes 3 driver positions. If you purchase 2 race entries they include 6 driver entries and 3 extra person entries.
$75.00 per extra person; mechanics, spotters, masseuse…
$45.00 for Transponder rental
No license fee.

5)     Teams:
Each team is encouraged to find a sponsor or promote their cause with vehicle graphics.

6)     Driver Skill:
Safety is our primary concern at our events. HPDE events will be available for practice.
All drivers must complete at least 2 HPDE events or one other race prior to attending the D2D500.
All drivers must be proficient on track, follow the rules and be safe.
Any safety or rule violations will result is severe penalties and possible driver or team removal.

The start:
35 cars will grid on track. Timing begins after the first lap is completed with everyone on track and the Green Flag Drops.
